Travel and Transfers
This is a low-carbon emissions event in support of global climate
change initiatives. Please consider travel options that
minimise emission generation and/or CO2 offset options.
Leipziger Messe GmbH Travelling to the conference centre
Leipzig/Halle Airport (LEJ) is your airport destination if
travelling by plane. Many airlines offer direct flights to
this airport or have good connections from Frankfurt,
Munich, Paris or Vienna.
Leipzig’s main railway station is located in the city
centre. It has a travel centre that is open daily until
22:00
and a service point on the concourse which is open 24 hours
a day.
The Congress Centre Leipzig (CCL) is located on a major
German motorway, the A14 (Dresden – Magdebur-Hannover). Use
either the Messegelande or Leipzig Zentrum exits from the
A14 to get to CCL. Parking is available at the conference
centre.
Travelling to the conference centre
...by Tram
Take tram no. 16 from Leipzig Central station to "Messegelände"
(the terminus) - the journey takes 19 minutes. The trams run
every 10 minutes and will take you to the conference centre campus. It is
an easy 5 minute walk to the conference building main
entrance. The City of Leipzig is offering tram travel free
of charge upon presentation of your 2012 Summit delegate
badge.
There will be free bus shuttles between the official
International Transport Forum hotels to the conference
centre throughout the
Summit programme days.
A taxi will take you directly to the conference centre
(along a similar route to the tram and the same as the bus
shuttle). Costs of transfers by taxi are not covered by the
Summit organiser. ...by Rail
The "Flughafen Express" (railway shuttle) runs every 30
minutes between Leipzig Central Railway Terminal and the
Leipzig/Halle Airport. The journey takes 14 minutes, and the
service stops at the conference centre.
There will be free bus shuttles between the Leipzig/Halle
airport and the conference centre throughout the Summit
programme days. Look for the 2012 Summit Help Desks at the
Airport.
Leipzig/Halle Airport is located near two major German
motorways: the A9 (Berlin - München), and the A14 (Dresden -
Magdeburg - Hannover).
A taxi will take you directly to the conference centre.
Costs of transfers by taxi are not covered by the Summit
