International Transport Forum Online Debate Platform Terms of Use
1. About the International Transport Forum Online Debate Platform
The International Transport Forum Online Debate Platform (the "ITF Online Debate
Platform") is an online forum for discussions open to the participation of the
general public and relating to the activities of the International Transport
Forum ("ITF"), including but not restricted to transport, logistics and
mobility.
The ITF Online Debate Platform is provided by ITF on an “as is” basis, without
any warranties or guarantees. In particular, ITF does not guarantee any
performance level, security or availability of the ITF Online Debate Platform.
ITF reserves the right to modify, replace or discontinue the ITF Online Debate
Platform at any time or delete data you provide, whether temporarily or
permanently. ITF shall have no responsibility or liability for the timeliness,
deletion, failure to store, inaccuracy, or improper delivery of any data or
information.
2. Acceptance of Terms of Use
By registering for and participating in the discussions held within the
framework of the ITF Online Debate Platform, you agree to be bound by the
present Terms of Use as may be amended from time to time by ITF, in addition to
the other notices on the ITF website, in particular the general OECD/ITF website
use Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy and Copyright Rules. If there is any
conflict between the present Terms of Use and/or the terms appearing elsewhere
on the ITF or OECD websites the present Terms of Use shall prevail.
3. Opinions expressed on the ITF Online Debate Platform
You acknowledge that the views of persons posting queries, comments and
statements to the ITF Online Debate Platform are not necessarily the views of
ITF, and are not necessarily endorsed by the ITF. The ITF Online Debate Platform
is intended to be a medium for the exchange of information between, and points
of view of, many people, and these are the points of view and statements,
opinions or questions of those individuals and not of ITF.
4. Registration
In order to access the ITF Online Debate Platform, you must follow the
registration procedure and agree to provide truthful information when requested.
People of all ages are encouraged to participate, but in the interests of child
protection, those under sixteen (16) are not allowed to register. By
registering, you certify that you are sixteen (16) years old or older. When
registering, you are requested not to choose an inappropriate username (vulgar,
offensive, etc).
Our registration process requires you to supply us with your email details. We
shall use this information to validate your access to the discussions and for
other service administration purposes. Also, be aware that the International
transport Forum may reveal your registration information and/or IP address to
any aggrieved parties or to the authorities.
You are responsible to maintain the confidentiality of your password and shall
be responsible for all uses via your registration and/or login, whether
authorised or unauthorised by you. You agree to immediately notify us of any
unauthorised use of your registration, user account or password.
5. Conduct
You explicitly agree, in using this website and participating to the ITF Online
Debate Platform, that you shall keep your contributions civil, tasteful and
relevant. In particular, you agree to the following conduct rules:
- Keep your posts relevant. Each topic of debate organised on the ITF Online
Debate Platform is about a particular issue. Posts which are not relevant lower
the value of the debate for everyone and may be removed.
- Post in English only. Posts containing languages other than English may be
removed. Common greetings and salutations in languages other than English may be
acceptable.
- Do not make multiple postings. So that we can publish comments from as many
different people as possible, participants should keep the number of their
contributions per debate to a reasonable level. Multiple posts from one
individual, or small number of individuals, discourages many others who might
otherwise wish to take part.
- No flooding. Do not repost the same message, or very similar messages, more than
once.
- Do not post messages that are unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive,
threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, homophobic or
racially offensive. These will be rejected for posting by the Moderator.
- Do not use the ITF Online Debate Platform to transmit any material that
infringes any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other proprietary
rights of any party as well as any material that you do not have the right to
make available under any law.
- Do not use the ITF Online Debate Platform to transmit any material that contains
software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to
interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software or
hardware or telecommunications equipment or to transmit any unsolicited or
unauthorised advertising, promotional materials, "junk mail," "spam," "chain
letters," "pyramid schemes" or any other form of solicitation.
- No advertising, promotion of products or services, or posting of web links
(URLs). If you know of a worthy website relevant to the discussion, please
inform the Moderator
- No personal information. It is not acceptable to publicise your or anyone else's
contact details including address, place of employment, name of educational
establishment, telephone or mobile number, email address, etc. This is for your
own safety and that of everyone who uses the ITF Online Debate Platform.
6. Copyright
You own the copyright in your postings and any attachments (the "Content"), but
you also agree to grant ITF and the OECD a perpetual, royalty-free,
non-exclusive, sublicenseable right and license to use, reproduce, modify,
adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform,
play, and exercise all copyright and publicity rights with respect to any such
Content worldwide and/or to incorporate it in other works in any media now known
or later developed for the full term of any rights that may exist in such
Content.
By submitting your contribution to this site, you also warrant that such
contribution is your own original work and that you have the right to make it
available to the OECD and ITF for all the purposes specified above, and that it
is not defamatory and does not infringe any law.
7. Removal of postings
ITF reserves the right to remove any postings to the discussions on the ITF
Online Debate Platform at any time, for any reason, and is under no obligation
to publish any work or statement submitted.
8. Suspension and Termination
ITF reserves the right to suspend or terminate any registration at any time and
at its sole discretion. While suspended, returning to the ITF Online Debate
Platform website by creating another account shall result in your account being
closed permanently.
9. General Disclaimer and Indemnity
Under no circumstances shall ITF be liable to you or any other person or entity
for any loss, damage, liability or expense suffered which is claimed to result
from, or in any manner in connection with, the use of the ITF Online Debate
Platform, including without limitation, any fault, error, omission, interruption
or delay. You agree to indemnify and hold ITF harmless from any claims which may
arise from third parties as a result of, or in connection with, your use of the
ITF website and ITF Online Debate Platform.
